National Media Reaction

Is anyone else dissapointed with the way the media (especially ESPN) has been tilting the view of this game. They are giving us no respect whatsoever. Instead they are making it sound like Colt McCoy should be up for the Heisman. Also, they make it sound like we never really had a chance to win the game when we infact had it already won. I know Texas played good but it makes me sick to listen to everything. Anyways, I just wanted to hear everyone elses point of view on this.

To some extent, it's to be expected - UT is the defending national champion.

My issue is not with the way they tout UT - UT deserves it. My issue is that they fail to describe the game for what it was - a back-and-forth battle by two teams. The fact that NU made a game of it, and more.

In other words, I don't mind UT getting their props. It bothers me that NU does not, simply for the fact that it results in a description that isn't accurate due to it's lack of both sides.

Just watched the replay on ESPNUsux and actually listened to mushybuttburger and the other troll. Hope they aren't left alone with Colt. His prostate would never be the same.

It's to be expected. Only time I've heard great props to NU is after the Florida game and even after that still tried to say UF was only a play or two away. :WTH

I was thinking the same thing. Mccoy is good. (GOOD)Could be said about a lot of players. They make it sound like he is the next coming of Joe Montana.

I think it's going to take one or two wins against highly ranked teams before the national media gives us any love. Our fall was so fast & dramatic after such a long time at the top. I do think the national media enjoyed our fall and it's going to take a while before they once again show us some respect.

THANK YOU. That's exactly how I feel about the coverage of this game. There is such a disparity when you were there.

I don't mind them getting props, I just wish they would say something about BJax playing great, or how it looked like a classic Big XII battle, not just a UT win when they should have.

The media reaction is exactly what I expected. McCoy better keep his back to the wall with how all the media are all over him. If this doesnt support the views of several of us that there is a media bias against Nebraska I dont know what would. Duke gets more credit for pushing a bad miami team missing 13 players.

Even if we had won, it still wouldnt have been about how Nebraska won, it would be how Texas lost.

I agree. The media attention has been so one sided.

Well stated AR!! I just wish they would some kind of credit to NU almost pulling off the upset. I guess NU will just have to force the media to give them the positive attention we deserve!!!!! :restore
