The Blackshirts have been a major dissapointment. What if the defense was a little better, this team could have been a top 10 team?

 
Maybe. But it is all speculation. maybe if we didnt have the rash of injuries, things would have been better.

 
eh, maybe. the OSU game has really been the only one they've completely collapsed on. Even our other two losses the teams didn't score as much on our defense as OSU did. Although USC probably could have done a little more damage than they did.

Again, it seems to be an endurance thing. And maybe not just a physical endurance, but a mental one as well. They start great, but just can't seem to finish great. The Texas game, though, they looked real good and held them when it counted.

But the polls don't pay much attention to the defensive stats, in my opinion. It's how many wins and how quality they are.

 
Bill stresses to start off fast. And they've been pretty good at that.

Hey, these stats here arent too bad:

8th in total offense

30th in scoring defense

The Huskers are a good team. We're not great, but we're not bad either. Big games ahead as we look to the finish line. GBR!!!

 
throw out the KU and OSU games (which we obviously can't) and the stats would be much better...those 2 games were killers

 
The OSU game hurt the worst obviously out of all the loses and I think we played UT outstanding!!!! I hope that team shows up to play Missouri this weekend!!! :bonez

 
My thoughts and feelings on this:

Yes, the defense is killing us... :(

 
We have really good offensive stats. At this point we can't tell if the problems on defense are due to injuries or schemes. But I think the tigers are a bit overrated. We should get by the puffs as well which should lock up the North for us.

 
i really thought that the defense was going to be alot better than they are. obviously the depth is not there and the injuries have hurt more then anyone could have expected

I couldn't agree more!!!! If we would have been injury free this year you have to wonder where our defense would be right now!!!!!
