You're also wrong about defense. Defense still wins championships, and the Knicks, Spurs, and OKC have committed to high-grade team defense. Teams like the Nuggets, Lakers, and half the Timberwolves, not so much. When a player can't carry his end on defense -- like James Harden -- he becomes a liability and his value plummets. Jrue Holliday still manages to excel on D and that's why he's still in the league.

I'm tired of LeBron because he still insists on making us watch him make decisions. Anthony Davis is only 33 but I'm tired of him, too. If he secretly retired how would anyone notice? We're already used to him not playing.

Love Curry, one of the best ever. And against popular opinion, love Draymond Green too. I have always liked GS even before the Kerr days, going way back to Chris Webber & Mullin days. Curry can play forever in my book. Durrant is also amazing and like him a lot. Just not the bouncing from team to team thing. Wish he stayed at OKC or at least GS.
 
So the NBA G League is adding a new free throw rule. It sounds strange at first, but I think I like it a lot. Hopefully it will catch on soon with a few teaks and the NBA adopts it. I think they will.

So its basically and all or nothing shot. Any foul that results in a free throw - you get one shot. If you make it you get 2 points. If it's a 3 pointer - you get one shot to get 3 points. If you miss your free throw, it's "on with the show". This should speed up a lot of unnecessary dead time with officials holding the ball between shots and coaches make subs, etc....

But the caveat is something like - the last 5 minutes of the 1st half and 4th quarter - dual free throw attempts per usual. If I remember it's something like that. 1 free throw for the bulk of the game, but normal free throws at the end of games.

I'm excited about that.
 
@Guy Chamberlin do you remember in the early 80's I think (I vaguely remember) when free throws were called 3 for 2 ?

I had forgot until watching some old NBA games on the NBA channel. Really cool. You got 3 free throws to make 2. So if they missed one out of the first 2 they got a third shot. But if they made the first two - that was it.

I don't know how long that rule lasted, I'm guessing a few years. I just thought it was cool and how it jogged my memory. Because games weren't really on TV that much.

That could work. I also think the 1 and 1 from college is preferable.

Bet the players wouldn't like it though. Not the free throw shooters as much as the other players who use the downtime to catch their breath.
