NBA D-League team in Omaha?

I think this would be great for Omaha. Even thought the Racers deal didn't work out so good. This time around the team will actually be associated with the NBA and will have some recognizable names of college players that just missed making it in the NBA draft. Thoughts?

 
I like it as well. I think in a smaller venue like the Ralston arena it can be successful without having to put 10,000 butts in the seats. I would not be a season ticket holder but would go to a game or two a year if they had recognizable players and or a good team and wasn't super expensive!

I really like alternative entertainment options like this.

 
Agreed. Cater to families and make it a fun place to go that will not cost $100 to take the wife and kids.

 
Ralston Arena will be pretty busy if they get this team.

D-League basketball, Lancers hockey and UNO basketball all in the same season.

 
Having went to a few Racers games some years ago, it seemed the marketing was lacking. I think Ralston and those associated with the new arena are taking the right approach in looking at several different avenues, basketball, hockey and football.

Has there been any updates on this topic recently? I heard the group from Ralston was supposed to meeting with the Nuggets group and have not heard anything out of that meeting. Anything?

The mayor said it went "Very Well" no other news though.
