Finally an ally. "One of the last special things about college football – we're running out of them, and ESPN is ruining most of the good stuff as we speak." All this talk of, 'we need a play off system' when actually we don't. All this expectation that a football playoff would rival March Madness when it won't. The only thing the BCS has done is ruin a very special end to the college football season. Far too many bowls, rewarding teams that lose as many games as they win. 35 Bowl Games, OMG who actually watches? Who really cares about the outcome of the Porcelin Throne Bowl presented by Acme Bathroom Fixtures, INC.? If its not broke don't fix it (and the NFL needs to take heed of this), when college football ended on New Years Day with all the major bowls except one (the Sugar Bowl) being played on Jan 1 it was almost perfect. An incredibly perfect party day. A house with TV's in every room, tremendous food and good drink on the best day of the year. In addition it gave us a reason to debate who the real champion was in every Legion Club, VFW and Bar and Grill across the country. I'll never forgive all those holier-than-thou talking heads at ESPN, Fox, and on the radio for stealing New Years Day from us, NEVER.

Not to get too far off-topic, but the BCS system is broken.

I may not agree with the holier-than-thou talking heads much, but if they're advocating a playoff system, I agree with them on that.
