Good for him!  Probably a good career move.  He'll get more responsibility (DC!) at a small program like Rhode Island than if he stuck around at a power five school.  At a bigger football school he might toil away for a decade or more before getting a shot at DC.   Maybe never.  

Plus he'll get awesome basketball tickets.
