Honestly, and this is my opinion, i really don't think any guy has a chance of getting an offer. 200+ offers out there to high school kids and only 2 of them have offers (D.J. Jones and Ricky Henry). If we were going to offer anyone else, we would have, but it's not going to happen. The only case i know of that COULD get an offer is Derrick Russel. I know the coaches have said to him that he could get a written offer from NU if he has a strong showing this season and impresses them this season (so kinda like a verbal offer contingent upon certain conditions if you want to look at it that way). Other then that, no i don't believe soAre there any other instate players Nebraska is looking at?
Yes, both guys are being watched by the coaches. Scott Downing is the one responsible for recruiting bates. Bates did himself a favor by visiting the NU summer camp this year and if he has a strong performance this year, he could get a verbal offer as early as march of next year. If he's recruited, he will be recruited as a DB and not a QB (even though he attended Nebraska's QB camp and tested at a 4.48 in the 40 yard dash and a 32 inch vertical).I supposed if someone this fall out of nowhere comes onto the radar screen, perhaps NU could offer.
Say, what about those two North High kids?: Phil Bates, Jr. and Niles Paul. According to the OWH, they have been turning some heads. Is NU keeping a close eye on those two? I think they are going to be juniors. Do you think in the future they have the potential to receive offers from NU?
I hope you mean OU as in Ohio University and not Oklahoma, because Oklahoma isn't even interested in him at the moment, nor is he on their radarWhy wouldn't they offer Bullocks from Lincoln? Aren't KSU, KU, Iowa, and OU going after him? I think when it is all said and done we will sign a couple more in-state guys.
According to the Husker Illustrated season preview it Oklahoma. Maybe things have changed since then but that is what I'm going by. Rivals doesn't have them listed to so who knows.I hope you mean OU as in Ohio University and not Oklahoma, because Oklahoma isn't even interested in him at the moment, nor is he on their radar.
