LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A University of Nebraska regent says there is no movement afoot to fire anyone associated with the Cornhuskers' football program.
Regent Randy Ferlic of Omaha says members of the Board of Regents are notified as a matter of course before any major hirings or firings in the athletic department.
Ferlic says he and fellow regents have been flooded with e-mails the past two days calling for the firings of athletic director Steve Pederson and head coach Bill Callahan, among others.
He says "it's almost reached a lynch-mob mentality."
The Huskers have come under fire after losing back-to-back games against Missouri and Oklahoma State by a combined 86-20.
Chancellor Harvey Perlman says he'll have no comment.
