Bessemer, Ala. - The Nebraska bowling team captured its third-straight tournament title at the Holiday Classic this weekend. The Huskers earned a 9-1 record over the two-day tournament, held at Holiday Bowl Fun Center in Bessemer, Ala.
Sophomore Valerie Calberry led the way for NU, notching an average of 194 for 11th place at the competition.
Maryland-Eastern Shore finished second behind Nebraska with a 6-4 record, while Alabama A&M earned a third-place finish with a 7-3 record. Vanderbilt finished fourth with a 8-2 record, while Central Missouri State rounded out the top-five team finishers with a 7-3 record.
Following this weekend's competition, the Huskers will have a two-week break before traveling to Nashville, Tenn., for the Music City Classic, which is NU's last regular-season competition. The 2010 NCAA Championships will be held on April 8-10 at North Brunswick, N.J.
