Nebraska starts at #22 in Coaches Poll

And Im sure that 5years in a row, THIS is the year OU earns that lofty preseason ranking. Surely....
What bowl did they play in last year and who did they beat again? The answers may lead you to their ranking.

12. Georgia

22. Nebraska
The gator bowl against a disinterested, hurt Georgia team is not a BCS bowl against Bama. Although I would say the win is the only reason Nebraska is ranked, so the logic applies.
Didn't you hear Saban? It was a consolation game and Bama was disinterested.

P.S. I loved Stoops calling him out.
Which is why Saban put pictures of that game up in the locker room?

Sorry, I just dont see OU sniffing the playoff. Baylor or Texas will sooil their season and both of them will have 2-3 hiccups a piece. Big 12 is a 10 bean salad anymore.

They get Baylor and KState at home, and Texas probably much improved will not quite be at that level. Returning, quality QB goes a long way assuming he stays healthy. I'm guessing Tech trips up Okahoma - but that will be their only loss going into Oklahoma State. That's a toss up game because of rivalry.

As for B12 - glass house.

I guess I don't have a problem with NU being 22, but I see a lot of teams ahead of us that IMO if we played on a neutral field we would be favored to win. I would take NU over Wisconsin, USC, ND, ASU, Ole Miss, KSU right now and the are ranked above us.

Didnt A crappy Texas stomp Ou last year? Tech might pull it off but Okie Lite wont. No matter how close that game is they find a way to let OU win.

As for the Texas game, again, glass house.

Seems like #22 is about right for us. We've been solid the past few years under Pelini. Not earthshattering, but solid. And coming off a bowl win against a good SEC team with a lot of our players returning this year, there's almost no way we wouldn't be ranked.

Just looking down our schedule, if we can take care of business against Miami we could easily be in the mid teens--say 15th or so--by the time we face Sparty in October. A win at Lansing, and the sky is the limit!

I would never look past that trip to Fresno. Especially coming right before a pretty big home game against Miami. Classic trap game.

True dat. Could be a real tough game. They have some transfer QB and all their receivers returning this season. Not sure what Fresno has on defense though.
