Id say Muschamps time is almost up. Win the division or else. Gonna take a minimum 8 wins for him to be retained I think.Florida was overrated last year even before injuries piled up. I think it will be a long year for them again.
I am thinking 6-6 or 7-5 and the cord gets cut on him before the bowl game.Id say Muschamps time is almost up. Win the division or else. just think, he could have been the head coach at texas. that would have been fun to watch. wonder if they still would have wanted him with the way it ended up with mack. and i wonder if he did not leave to take some pressure off mack. like, everyone wanted him to take the mantle, but mack was not ready, so he just left to avoid that controversy.Id say Muschamps time is almost up. I agree. I'm surprised we were even ranked at all. (But love it that we're ranked ahead of Texas!!) However, it will make it that much sweeter when we GRADUALLY climb to the top. I really hope to see us take one game at a time. Really prepare for each game as if it were the most important game of the year. We seem to always get beat when we least expect it. I'm hoping we will be competitive for each and every game this year. Won't be long now before our first game!!! GBR!!Actually in the opposite camp here. I don't see what we've done to start at 22. I'd put Missouri, Iowa, and maybe even Duke all ahead of us and they aren't even ranked.Cue three pages of "We should be higher than _____________." and, "We don't get any respect anymore." and "Preseason polls are meaningless."
That's what I was thinking too. 12-2 isn't a fluke record, and a number of those games were started by Mauk. They've got Sasser back too (remember that name?). 3 of 5 on the OL. DJB will be tough to replace though.Oh, I agree. But, they went 12-2 last year. I guarantee that if you changed the logo to Florida or Georgia, they'd be getting more love.
I thought pyramid scheme? Or else door-to-door Amway saleswoman. Rival with Ding Dong Avon calling. Next year, Viagra Coaches Poll.Worst thing about this is calling it the "Amway" coaches poll.
Who does the sponsorship money go to? Who collects the naming rights fees? And how cynical has college football become that we have to have a corporate sponsor for a friggin' poll???

It looks like Miami is decently high in the 'others receiving votes' category. If they start off 3-0 heading into the Nebraska game, I would expect them to be ranked somewhere. So Miami isn't ranked and there schedule before the game against us includes @ Louisville which will be in primetime on ESPN, a home game against Florida A&M, and a home game against Arkansas State. They should be 3-0 before reaching us.
I don't know if that would be enough to get them ranked though.
Usually that early in the season some teams outside the top 25 move up cause of people in front losing. It looks like Miami is decently high in the 'others receiving votes' category. They've drawn about as easy of a schedule as you can get in the SEC - no Alabama, Auburn or LSU the first two years (regular season). That doesn't take away from their record last year but they only played three teams (counting the CCG) who finished above .500 in the conference last year and went 1-2. They have that same schedule this year but I suppose people are counting on dropping another game or two along the way. The @SCar, vs. Georgia, @ Florida will be a tough stretch and they also have @ aTm and a better-than-expected Central Florida team on the schedule. I think it will be tough for them to repeat last year's record. That's what I was thinking too. 12-2 isn't a fluke record, and a number of those games were started by Mauk. Sam, Ealy will be even more difficult to replace on defense, but I have to admit Pinkel has produced better defensive lineman than even Pelini in the last decade so I am sure they'll reload.
