Worst thing about this is calling it the "Amway" coaches poll.

Who does the sponsorship money go to? Who collects the naming rights fees? And how cynical has college football become that we have to have a corporate sponsor for a friggin' poll???
Do you have some time to sit with me and let me tell you about all the wonderful polls we offer? You could be making your own polls in just a few months!
My folks were big-time into Amway back in the 1980s. Dad still uses tons of Amway products to this day. Their stuff isn't bad, it's the bizarro cultish nature of their business model that's scary.
waiting for the Pelini Litter-Box offensive line starting lineup next! hopefully these guys up front will be meaner than cat sh#t!
Little early to be drinking isn't it?

They've drawn about as easy of a schedule as you can get in the SEC - no Alabama, Auburn or LSU the first two years (regular season). That doesn't take away from their record last year but they only played three teams (counting the CCG) who finished above .500 in the conference last year and went 1-2. They have that same schedule this year but I suppose people are counting on dropping another game or two along the way. The @SCar, vs. Georgia, @ Florida will be a tough stretch and they also have @ aTm and a better-than-expected Central Florida team on the schedule. I think it will be tough for them to repeat last year's record.
I agree, they probably won't get to 12 this season. But that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be sitting in the top 25. They were #5 to end the season last year. I am guessing they are plenty happy to be on the outside looking in though, Missouri seems to function well as the underdog. They weren't supposed to win 8 games last year and the rattled of 12 wins fighting injuries.

Unless Florida turns it around - which is certainly possible with the talent - that shouldn't be any more difficult of a road game than us traveling to Northwestern. Should be a win. Central Florida was a one-man show who's now getting paid to play, see the Fresno discussion and I'm guessing you'll find an exact mirror in the Missouri forums. @aTm is a tough one. They are coming off a bye week. I'm just not sure how to gauge A&M yet so it's a toss up. They could fall hard and fast, or they could reload and keep on trucking. They were still a 4 loss team even w/ Manziel though. So the question becomes how quickly can those last couple highly ranked recruiting classes have an impact on the team. The couple before that (11',12') weren't anything special though, so they might still be a year away from cashing in. @SCar is a likely loss. Georgia at home, coming off a bye - I see that as a win.

Will be on this list EVERY year

Since the pollsters were nice enough to put us at #25 last year, and this year promises a lot of the same talent with less chaos, #22 seems perfectly reasonable.

I know some people think preseason polls are too powerful, but any unbeaten or one-loss team in any major conference will elevate themselves to the Top 8 by season's end. Over-rated teams get punished for their early season loss. Late-breaking teams tend to get rewarded. And mid-major teams in the BCS get everyone's panties in a bunch.

I'm gonna disagree with anyone that says Oklahoma is overrated. I watched their bowl game against Bama last year and to quote Bo Pelini "that's a hell of a football team". I believe they were ranked 6th in the country at that point, so after the a$$ whoopin they put on annually top ranked Alabama, I don't think 3rd is unreasonable. Bob Stoops also gets a lot of respect in the coaching world.
