What do these stats tell us? Well, Nebraska is a dominant rush defense, but it is lacking in the pass defense department. It needs to improve on it's pass defense if it hopes to challange teams with superior talent like USC, Florida St, Miami, Texas for example. There are other areas to work on but i will leave that up to you to figure out

Sounds like we may need another tipped catch for a touchdown...wait a minute wasn't that the Missou game a couple of years ago...we won in Missou on a tipped pass (off our players shoe if I remember right.) to win the game. WOW, wouldn't that be a co-winkee-dink. :thumbs

How so?

I look at the numbers and then watch the games....

To me the Huskers will force Missouri into 3rd and long all day...thats a bad situation......They don't run the ball very well, and it's worse since they got into the big12 schedule......They have score 15 rush td's we have aloowed only 2.

The Tigers have posted a potent offense untill you peal the onion and look were the bulk of their numbers have come from....Arkansas State, Okie State and so on and on......They will hit a brick wall saturday

Now if you compare our offense agin thier defense and you look at what we have done agin Big12 opponents and what we did non-con you can see that we are stepping up each week with better numbers....Missouri can't do that......The huskers are becoming more consistant and their numbers are showing it....we have an edge in the passing game....and a huge edge in the rushing dept. if you compare Big12 numbers.

Lets face it guys....The Huskers have played as tuff a schedule as Missouri so far in the big 12 ....we have the same record....both clubs have lost a home game....but that is where the similarities end....the Husker defense is stout and proven.....the Tigers Defense is a piece of sh#t

We have better place kickers and punters...our team speed and coverage has been excellent...we get nice contributions on the return game as well

Still think the Tigers are scary?

 
One other thing....the sacks don't show up in the pass defense numbers....if they did the Huskers pass defense numbers would look much, much better.....keep in mind this is not baseball .....the numbers don't always show whats goin on the field

 
One stat that's not included by Nameless is heart and determination, and in that category we completely own the Tigers. Our team won't give up... ever. I don't know if we can say the same for Mizzou.

mizzou did have enough heart to come back against iowa st... but they wont have a chance this week... the blackshirts will breat their little "black out" hearts b4 they have a chance to make up points

 
NU averaging 410 ypg last 3 games . That type of average would rank in the top 40, but the first 3 games drag us down to #87 in the nation in total offense.

YAWN........I hope you did'nt spend too much time on this dribble

You keep forgetting that ISU gave up 2 turnovers that were taken in for TD's or Mizzou is a loser.....

Also we blew a late FG because a fumble by ZT...or we win by 3 in regulation.

And lastly.......We all know that Smith pissed away the Tech game on a fluke...once in a lifetime bounce of the ball...or we would be 6 -0 and Mizzou would be 2 and 2 in the big 12

That is the real situation when yopu read between the lines and you actually compare these teams.....I told you already, this aint baseball......sometimes the numbers will lie to you......We have several matchup advantages over the Tigers:

O-line, D-Line, LB's,RB, and Special Teams....furthermore ZT is close if not a a total draw with Smith at the QB slot....our Recievers are just as good as theirs thanx to injuries.....

I apparently missed some drama with a TE...but either way, these stats (edit: the ones directly above, I somehow completely missed the rest of the post... :wacko: ) are pretty misleading when you don't temper them with some real analysis. Especialy when the stats are only from one game from 3 weeks ago.
