New Depth Chart is Out!

Big shake up in the secondary for backups. Thenarse and Corey Young as #2 CB's. Bryan Wilson knocked off Eisenhart for Safety back up and Major Culbert backing up also. I also noticed Purify was dropped from the depth chart, he was co #2 with Hardy.

Oops - Young is CO #2 with someone else - but can't see who.

I never really realized how young NU is. If you look back at that depth chart, ZT, Austin and Herian are the only seniors on the O and the front four on the D are the only seniors. There are also adequate backups to that front four that are young. WOW. This looks good for the next few years to come. Exciting!

What do you think caused Pure to drop off? Obviously was something they saw or didnt see from him in the SC game, but hell how many opps did he really get - maybe he ran some weak routes... ? :dunno

Saw a lot of rivals footage on Ricky before we signed him. he is going to be a total terror in a couple of years! Of course hopefully sooner :horns2

I saw one pass thrown his way on Sat. It seemed like he ran a bad route. It was on a 3rd and 6 or something in the third quarter. The pass was really short and skipped to him. It seemed like he ran the route too deep and Taylor threw it where he wanted it. It could be ZT's fault, but I find that hard to believe the way he has been so accurate this season.

I think what caused Purify to drop off is me not viewing it in PDF format. He was listed the same as he was before. :corndance

I think that was a 3rd down situation and Purify was past the sticks. Taylors pass didn't get to the sticks.
That was 4th down and Taylor threw it straight into the ground. Purify was open by at least a yard or so. He broke it off perfectly and was just missed.

It was certainly not the best throw Purify could have had and wasn't a good throw by Taylor, but IMO he could have caught that ball...not saying he should have.

Taylor looked like he had a bad case of happy feet during a good portion of the game, though. I don't know who's to blame on that one play but it doesn't really matter. The pocket held up enough the majority of the time, it just seemed like he was taking a while to go through his progressions, and always wanted to check down. With that being said, I love Taylor as a quarterback and can't really criticize someone who has done what he has. He is an ironman and it was just a bad game for us.

If Glenn is the #2 I back, why the hell didn't he get any carries? I may not know much, but I would think that if you are running a power running game, you want your best power runner in there.

If he isn't the best power runner, then why is he listed at #2? If Wilson is better, then why isn't he #2? :WTH

It would be nice to be in a position on Saturday to get Cory, Ricky, and Major some snaps with the first string defense against an offense that will actually throw the ball (no offense Nicholls State). A good rotation in the secondary should help them out. :restore
