Is there a general feeling of apathy down in Lawrence or do some kool aid drinkers still exist down there?

I don't live in Lawrence, or in Kansas either for that matter, so I can't speak to the mood there. The general feel I get is resignation right now. We have to wait and see what Weis will do going forward because we're not in a position where we can just fire him. Firing the last couple coaches has done that to us. However, the success of 2007 made most of us hungry for more, so I don't think there is apathy. Having a couple giants in close proximity like Nebraska and Oklahoma puts Kansas in a tough position. NU and OU suck all the oxygen out of the room and leave little room for KU to improve. We'll just have to wait and see.
ETA - I am more than happy to answer any questions you all may want to ask about KU, but I do need to be educated about "our" Huskers for next year. I would love to read some threads about the positional depth chart and what expectations we should have about players/positions as well as expectations for the season overall.

Welcome to the board Jyhawk, you can find several of the threads you're looking for by using the search function. For next season, I'm sure others can give a better breakdown than I, but the long and short of it is the following:
1. Defense: has the potential to be great if they can keep improving like they did at the end of last season. The second half of the season defensively was completely different than the first half of the season. Will Randy Gregory take that next step towards the "Suh" level? We'll have to wait and see, but god I hope so!
2. Offense: Questions on the line and obviously the QB position. Can Armstrong take that step to the next level and be the clear #1 QB? Or do we have a QB controversy on our hands? Receivers should do very well and our RB situation is great! Abdullah is a stud and with Cross and Newby back there as well I'm not worried about our RB situation at all. Just hope the O-line has everything squared away.
3. Special Teams: Biggest question mark on our team right now. They weren't very good last season and with what I seen from our kicker in the spring game, I'm worried to say the least.
