New RB/FB

Welcome to the board, TJ Alum. Make yourself at home. :thumbs

I agree about his pad level. We've got a real motivator in Ron Brown. If anyone can coach this guy up, it's him.

Isn't there some rule in which a transfer student may play right away if they have family member working for the school? And isn't his dad is a GA?

Pretty sure I read this somewhere out there.

There's seems to be a tendency for a taller back to naturally run too high. But I'm not claiming to be an expert on this. I remember Roger Craig, who had a great NFL career like Ahman Green, initially had that problem his sophomore year with the Huskers.

Mike Marrow

Read that he'll have 3 yrs to play 3, anyone confirm?

Son of Vince Marrow, who is working with TEs on the staff currently.
Does anyone know why he left Alabama then Eastern Michigan?
Left Bama for family reasons. I believe there was some illness with a couple of different people he was close to. Its also my understanding its only 50/50 he'll be a running back. I think there is a good chance they'll look at him there first for a change of pace back but they also talked to him about becoming a LB. I think he'd fit better there. He kind of has a reputation of being soft after first contact and that doesn't really suit well for a short yardage pounding back that we'd use him for.

That's too bad if it's true he lacks mental toughness for short yardage situations. We could use someone like him in a three-back rotation -- Burkead, Marrow, and one of the three incoming freshmen most ready to play. You'd like to see the other two redshirt if possible, but that might not be possible with what you just described and the likely-hood of injury.
