New Season Ticket Chances

Dakota

Walk-on
Hey everyone!

Hopefully this hasn't been posted before (I searched, but couldn't find a good answer...but if there is a good thread, please send me that way!)--but I wanted to see if anyone could simplify the process of trying to get season tickets and what my "chances" might be to get some.

My basic understanding is:

1. You pay $ as a "donation" that goes to an overall points system (3 points/$100 for that current year, etc.)

2. Then you have an option to put $100 down/seat as a deposit and seats will be guaranteed to be available (I'm guessing tickets are available, but might be $$$ for an annual donation)

3. You will be given a day sometime next May in the Seat Yourself process

4. If you select tickets, you then pay the annual donation (question here---is the annual donation the total price you pay per seat?  ie, if the annual donation is $500/seat, $500 is the total price you pay for those tickets for the year...I was a little uncertain in this aspect).

Anyway, if anyone could clarify the above process, I would appreciate it!

The second part of my question (and I realize there is not a "definitive" answer)

-What is the likelihood of getting tickets for 2018?

-If I pay the $100 down payment per ticket, do you think there is a OK chance that I could get seats that were $500/seat or less? (I'm ideally looking at the $250 range)

Thanks so much for any advice and insight! We're moving back to the Midwest in June and really looking forward to being part of the big red nation!

It's not looking good - a guy at the grocery store told me this morning that there has been a "run" on ticket request from some city in Nebraska - think he said woodriver? not sure thou.

I believe the $100 or more initial donation is to get you into the seat yourself rounds. The people with more donation points get to be in earlier rounds of the seat yourself process. If there are tickets still available after all the scheduled seat yourself rounds, they are made available to the general public.

It's hard to say how hard it will be to get tickets with the buzz of a new coach. It seems like some of the lower donation ones have gone quicker in the past.

The tickets themselves are a flat rate for anywhere in the stadium. For example, last season was about $399 for one season ticket plus whatever the donation that's required for that seat based upon the map. Each ticket requires it's own donation based upon it's location.

Here's a link to the sign-up page which also shows the donation map: https://ev9.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventInfo?ticketCode=GS%3AIBM%3AF18%3AWL%3A&linkID=huskers&shopperContext=&pc=&caller=&appCode=&groupCode=WL&cgc=

@Maized & Confused covered it pretty well.

All seats are the same price for the actual ticket - just the donation changes.  There are some seats - mostly at the top of North Satdium - that don’t require a donation.

I see they are saying that paying your $100 deposit will “guarantee” you tickets.  I would sure think that would be the case but it’s interesting that they’re guaranteeing it.  There have been a bunch of tickets available all over the stadium for the last several years.  A lot of them disappear during the Seat Yourself process but there should still be some by the  time it gets to the new ticket applicants at the end.  Just a matter of where they’re at.  There will almost ndoubtedly be tickets for less than a $500 donation.  For sure some that don’t require a donation and probably some $150 and $250 per seat donations as well.

Only other think to be mindful of is the obstructed view seats.  They are noted in the Seat Yourself process but just make sure you don’t think you’re getting a deal and not notice that they are obstructed view.  They are basically the bottom four or so rows and anything above about row 40 in East and West Stadum.

Yep, this is true - and the thing is, they're not really bad seats.  We sat in row 84, Section 34 a few years ago. We were perfectly in line with Westerkamp's Hail Mary catch against Northwestern. Great view, even from way up there.

When would be the best time to go after these type of seats?

They ask for renewals/donations by (I think) March 1st for existing season ticket holders.  I would assume you can contact them at any point to donate and get your spot inline for the seat yourself process.  That process goes from (I think) mid April to mid May, and its based on your donation points (highest gets 1st choice).  So being a new donor and assuming you would not be dropping dump truck of money, you would be looking at mid May to select your tickets.

If you are a $0 donor and want to get tickets, I would think that you would need to wait until the entire seat yourself process is over, so late May/June maybe?  I know last year there were advertising season tickets being available throughout the summer.

My sister has always talked about getting season tickets.  I told her last summer was the time to get them.  I had a feeling this season was either going to one extreme or the other.  I said she could sell Wisky and/or tOSU and it would pay for most of the tickets.  With a Frost Advisory tickets might go up and be a little harder?  Who knows, start the process and see.
