The Lincoln Sports Alliance is honored to announce the guest speaker for the inaugural "Average Joe Sports Lunch" will be Tim Cassidy, Associate Athletic Director for Football Operations. Bill Doleman, Program Director, for KLMS and the host of The Average Joe Sports Show on ESPN Radio will emcee the event, which will take place at the Villager Courtyard and Gardens Hotel, 5200 O Street, on September 19th at Noon. The lunch is part of a new series hosted by The Lincoln Sports Alliance, called the "Average Joe Luncheon Series", which features a guest speaker and monthly sports updates. Lunches will be the third Monday of every month at noon.
Tim Cassidy, entering his second season as Associate Athletic Director for Football at Nebraska, is considered by many to be one of the top football administrators in the country. Cassidy assists in Nebraska's recruiting efforts and program administration, and coordinates the Huskers' day-to-day office organization.
Cassidy first gained a national reputation as a great recruiter in his two years as the director of recruiting and high school relations at the University of Florida (1987, 1988). Named among Tom Lemming's list of the top 10 recruiters in the nation in 1999, Cassidy helped the Nebraska football program claim one of the top rankings in the nation by most analysts for the 2005 recruiting class.
Josh Barker, Sales Development Manager for the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau said, "As Chairman of the American Football Coaches Association-Football Operations Committee, Cassidy will provide a perspective on the upcoming Husker football season that many people just don't get a chance to hear."
