No more blackouts

From Lee Barfknecht's column (and I agree with him):

Worst fashion statement: Nebraska fans who wore black to the UCLA game.
Sportswriter and university friends from Oklahoma, Colorado and Missouri contacted me the following week and said watching a Nebraska home game on TV and not seeing the sea of red “was just wrong.” If you want to change the uniforms now and then to please the players, fine. Think really hard, though, about messing with your most visual national calling card. If the sea of red still gives pause to your old Big Eight brethren, you’d better believe it matters elsewhere, too.

But it inspired the players to win the game!

And 7 recruits verbally committed right after the game because it was so cool!

Isn't b******* a censored word anymore? It should be.

/edit: How did you get b******* to show up in the thread title? Are you a wizard?

Holy crap! Now this? You should all be fashion critics, assuming most of you are men, and the majority of football fans are men, I've never heard grown men carry on so long about what others are wearing.

I will state this for myself and I alone. I wore black to the game, I also bought a nice black Nebraska hat outside the stadium the day to go with it. If you were to tell me here, or approach me at a game and tell me you don't like my choice of color I wore I would directly and promptly tell you to go f#*k yourself and find something to devote your time to since you clearly have enough time to waste worrying about my attire.

Maybe we shouldve done it for Homecoming instead of against a team that just had a team mate pass away. The University shouldve gotten behind it but oh well. Cool concept wether people like it or not. Had we gotten a pure true b******* and a 30 point win, people still wouldve said they hated it.

Oh god. Here is an argument that will not win you any debate trophies:

I know (unspecified quantity of anonymous people) who think X is "just wrong."

Therefore, not X.

We b!^@h about Clownahan and Bo taking away our traditions, and we take one of the most visible ones ourselves.

I will be totally honest, it looked like sh#t.

I really could care less what any body wears, but continuing the sea of red should seem important to every one. The more of these failed attempts we have for students that fail to fill their seats or even wear black at the game seems like trying to please the spoiled child at the party.

We are Nebraska, Go Big Red, not sometimes Black.

OMFG! Lee Barf has sharp critiques of a new fad, what a grumpy Gus. The blackkshirts worked for a half (whatever that is worth) plus don't we give away those things to the Defense? So is it really a strech to wear a color that the team uses? <Insert comment about attracting recruits> but kids do like the alternate duds so why not support the team? Last I checked we were the Nebraska Cornhuskers not the Nebraska Lee Barfs, somedays he should go for a long walk off a short pier before he publishes his thoughts.

As a black guy this offends me.
I thought you were Italian.
