Not Impressive?

Spartness

It seems like the coaches have done a great job of evaluating talent, based on this recruiting class. Since the coaches can't be right all the time in selecting players who are as talented as advertised, are there any in this class who so far have not lived up to the hype?

Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not saying all those players who have been impressive talent-wise will pan out at the end. Some may get injured, become homesick, not adjust to college life, break team rules, not able to handle the academic work, lack motivation, etc. I'm just talking about talent. It seems like the coaching staff has done a remarkable job in this area. Has anyone not shown to be as talented as thought?

I've heard that before from some people in regard to the All-American game that had several other Huskers. But I don't think he's been cleared for practice has he? What about some who have practiced?

Zach Potter has struggled a little bit so far, and I havent heard much about Tomerlin.
I think in regards to those 2, Potter was never really considered to have an immediate impact, we brought him in based somewhat on potential. He is pretty amazing physically and a year in Kennedy's program should get him ready to contribute in the next few years. Also w/Tomerlin he was a bit behind since he wasn't able to practice right away. He's also a JUCO kid w/3 years of eligibility and had a great year at Butler last year.

It's still very early and the team still has 3 weeks before the 1st game. A lot of the kids are freshman or incoming JUCO's. Give them a little bit to get used to being at a top-notch D1 school to see if they'll be able to contribute or not. I think we should be ecstatic that Marlon, Leon, Cody, Zac and Zach, Frantz, Ola, Barry, Ndamukong, Steve O, Dontrelle, and Nick all appear ready to contribute immediately.

That's no joke. I ran into an old friend from CP at the gym a few months ago and he did an internship in the athletic department there and he told me Potter didn't start lifting with any sort of regularity till right before his Senior year in high school.

Chris Brooks didn't lift in high school at all, I believe. Just think how good he could be once Kennedy gets him in the weight room. But his knee needs to heal first.

Actually guys, I am just wondering about the natural talent these players have -- many of them appear to have great potential. It's expected that some of these newcomers will struggle some. I was just wondering if there are a couple players who haven't shown as much potential as had hoped.

I would have to go with David Harvey. He seems to be struggling in camp.
