No doubt in my mind that by the end of this Saturday, Braxton Miller will be mentioned as a Heisman candidate. It's going to be flashbacks of Corby Jones.

Man alive, that's goin back aint it? All the qb's that scorched us time and time again over the last 15 years and you come up with Corby Jones? Good memory, becuase that was probably the most impressive scorching by an opposing qb we've ever taken.

And many of them happen at the beginning of the game or the beginning of the second half. These also seem to occur inside out friggin 20 yard line or less more frequently as well.

A quick check of stats reveals a very salty Buckeye run D, they're currently ranked #19 in the country against the run. Against the pass...well, that's a different story, they fall off the map at #94. If I was a betting man, I say we drop this game by 7 - 14.

I think the announcers said Wisconsin was the #13 rushing defense before our game and we put up 259 rushing yards on them and that was with the fumbles and miscues. At this point the rankings are a bit anomalous, nobody has really played anyone of substance. OSU did play MSU but that team is Ball or bust, we're a little more diversified than that. We're going to have to work for it but I don't think we are completely over matched.

We are not over matched and urban is changing things up there. That could play to our advantage.

I think top-to-bottom, Nebraska is the better team. This is a game we should win. Then again, UCLA was a game we should have won. Wisconsin is a team we should have beat by at least 3 scores. Seriously, I loved the comeback against Wisconsin, but I hated that we shot ourselves in the foot for over half the game. Giving a bad Wisconsin team every chance imaginable to beat us in our house.

I loved how our defense dominated in the second half. Then again Wisconsin's offensive line, and offense in general, has been terrible the entire season, not sure what to make of Nebraska's dominance. It should have been something that happened for 4 quarters, not just 2. Then again, it's hard to blame the defense when Wisconsin started 2 drives inside Nebraska's 25 yard line.

Watching OSU vs. MSU it was apparent Ohio State's run defense is for real. So was Wisconsin's. Challenge accepted.

Like I said in a status update, Nebraska will have to bring it's 'A' game to beat this Ohio State team. And by that I don't mean Ohio State is that much better, Nebraska just has a nasty habit of bringing their 'C' game to big games. If they do that, I see a repeat of Michigan 2011.

Nebraska's recent history with run first QBs is well documented. And the one we're going up against might be the best in the country. I don't plan on our defense stopping him, but if our offense plays well, we can outscore him.

i agree with everything you said, but for some reason i think our 'd' puts it together this game and stops braxton. i would not be surprised to be wrong, but i am just stuck on a feeling.

OSUs rush defense did look good against MSU. However, Nebraska's offense is a lot better than MSUs. Basically, from what I've seen MSU is run the ball with their RB and nothing else. This year we have a very good running attack and a very efficient passing attack that teams have to respect or it will burn them.

We need to come out and have a balanced offense from the start but really attack them when we pass. If we can have some early success passing the ball to the point they need to make that adjustment to stop it, we will be able to run on them and win the game.

On defense, I think we need to do the age old goal of stopping the run first and making them beat us with the pass. It appears from the stats that they don't like passing the ball and they aren't as good at it as we are.

Commit the players to contain Miller and we win that battle.

Before the MSU game, I remember hearing about OSU's trouble with rushing and speed on the edges. I thought I saw them struggle a little bit with a zone read.

Maybe the OSU faithful here can elaborate.

I think it will be a great game and am excited to make the trip to Columbus.

Until I saw Bo and Paps field a completely different D in the 2nd half against Wisky, I would have to agree with the above. That change and intensity really shocked me. Something I haven't seen in quite some time. The fact that Bo made the comment to the press about him still knowing something about defense shows me Bo has forgotten more than I will ever know.

The DL made up of 4 DE's was a thing of brilliance on 3rd and long.

Evans requesting to cover Abberderis, Randle wanting to get back in, Stein finally playing with intensity shows me something is going on with the D. Leadership is emerging.

I really think that Bo has done some studying and realizes that to win the B1G and possibly the MNC, we will need to stop the mobile QB. There is no way that he can realistically think our standard D will work. It didn't last year when we had less overall talent IMO. Not to take away from David at all, but no Crick, Fonzie basically hurt all year etc.... I think we actually have the DB's in place to stay with Miller. Maybe we even spy this year. Put SJB on him or Evans or Cooper. I really expect Bo to show us something new, if nothing more to throw it in the face of the fans. Hey if disliking us (not saying he does) motivates him to do the old, "I'll show you", then so be it.

Again, the D staff really impressed me last night and I think that the staff, team and fans learned a little bit last night that will pay dividends going forward.

I agree with you 100% I liked what I saw in that 2nd half.

After doing some research Bo is 4-6 against mobile qb's (counted Va Tech x2, Baylor once, Washington in 2011, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan, and UCLA)

Also 10-6 in October

Also Bo is undefeated in the 2nd away game of the year going 4-0. So take all of this FWIW.

I personally am glad this is a away game. I think the home crowd for Ne makes them too jittery and causes a lot of those mistakes we have. I think we go on the road as the underdog and play solid Ne football and come out with a big win. I also think this is Bo's chance to put a Mobile Qb into Qb graveyard.
