Noteworthy Movie Actors

Hooked on Huskers

All-Conference
BTW, I enjoyed older movies. New movies, 5 years or later, basically sucks. My first thoughts .......

Best Actors:

Jack Nicholson - Flew over the cuckoo nest, Shining, Batman, Terms of Endearment and Anger Management ... top notched, perfect cast

Leonardo DiCaprio - my co-worker guys hate him but believe it or not, I liked him .... Aviator, Catch Me if You Can, Wolf of Wall Street; all excellent

Kurt Russell - I enjoyed Snake Plissken character and Overboard, Capt. Ron and 3000 miles to Graceland movies (all low IMDb ratings but tough!)

Jim Carrey - Dumb and Dumber, Truman Show, Majestic ... both comedy and serious plots

So-So:

Gene Hackman - probably move to best actor list but sometime ridiculous stories like Replacement movie (terrible !). However, I like Hoosiers.

Tom Hanks - lately pretty good but earlier age, sucks

Clint Eastwood - for some reason .....

Harrison Ford - see Clint

Dislike:

Kevin Costner - terrible IMO except Postman and Field of Dreams .. so-so performance

Gene Wilder - terrible and corny, all movies

Will Smith

Best Actress:

Probably Cher - especially Mask, Silkwood, Mermaids

i like kevin costner in jfk, but otherwise i get why people do not like him as an actor.

actors i never thought i would like but now i do: marky mark, bradley cooper

i do not watch enough movies to compile a list of actors i do not like.

My favorite actor to this day is Russell Crowe. Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander, Cinderella Man.

Least favorite...probably Nicolas Cage

i really liked him in "3:10 to yuma". nick cage has some great movies, but some truly insane performances.

For me, it's Costner's deadpan, no emotion delivery. Much like Robert Redford, who I also thought was a terrible actor (but was in great movies). I like almost every Kevin Coster movie I've seen. Love the move Tin Cup.

Costner was pretty good in Dances with Wolves i thought. Have any of you been to Costner's restaurant in Deadwood, South Dakota?. Had a pretty good prime rib there once... Anyway...

Those men are all legends. I find it beyond ridiculous that you think their careers have just been "so-so."

I couldn't agree with you more. Also I don't see how Tombstone failed to be mentioned with Kurt Russel but Captain Ron was.

Costner was in Open Range, so that gets him an A for me. The gun fight in that movie is simply amazing.
