LINCOLN — Nebraska has decided to remove the words “Beat Texas” from a website and video that eventually will be part of an athletic department fan site.
The site, www.redoutaroundtheworld.com, which doesn’t go live until mid-August, has attracted national attention with a promotional “splash page” that features a video highlighting the buildup to the Oct. 16 home football game against the Texas Longhorns — with the slogan “Wear red. Be loud. Beat Texas.”

Yea they never shouldve had the Beat Texas thing in from the beginning. I knew this thing was gettin out of hand when the played it during College Football live yesterday. Maybe they will put the "beat Texas" part back in the during the actual game week or come out with cooler-hipper type of video.

wow I hope that makes you feel good about it, when was the last time we defeated them? I guess I don't really believe in saying anything or making websites and/or videos just doesn't seem like the kind of thing that fits us.

Im pretty sure the point of it all is to leave no doubt that you are expected to WEAR RED to the texas game. No attempted blackouts. No Grey sweatshirts. No white. Red out! WEAR RED! RED!

Reminds me of the time they got rid of "New Coke".
From inside the industry, New Coke was a genius creation at the time. It smashed Pepsi in focus groups and taste tests, but when released, the public didn't care about the taste and believed they hated it because it wasn't the product they had imprinted on.

“The Omaha World-Herald has been a corporate partner with athletics for several years,” he said “Most recently, The Omaha World-Herald has been a key partner in the design and technical development of the ‘Red Out Around the World’ website. Their web expertise and design creativity have been a key part of the project and are much appreciated.
Does this mean the site will be bloated with flash ads and video players, and have a "blog" readers can't leave comments on?

Whenever I see a great video like that, I remind myself what similar thing K-State came up with (this is not the power towel, which was also awful, but everyone has seen that)....

Hahahaha

Your video was sweet, and even better when you see what others are turning out.

+1

Lol, I miss Surge! I can't believe you referenced that, I haven't heard about Surge for like 10+ years. I remember it well, a stronger sugar rush than Mountain Dew. :ahhhhhhhh
