NU Hungrier Than We (Texas) Are?

I have looked at several Lincoln TV stations and the build-up for this game.

I'm getting the impression that they are more fired up for this that we are.

In reply to:

"If you beat a team like Texas, you'll get respect. We feel like if we have the season we plan to have, we'll get that recognition whether or not we beat Texas," Taylor said.

Coach Bill Callahan said, whether its on the ground or in the air, he's trying to put together a game plan that gets the 'W.'

"If I had my way, I'm going to try to find a way to win, whether it's running, throwing -- we're going to do what we need to do to win," Callahan said.

I think that's true for any big game against an opponent who is ranked higher.

We wanted to beat USC badly and we want to beat Texas. If we had played Ohio State or one of the ranked SEC teams, we would be the same level of pumped. We care more about this because if we win we can get some better recognition. If Texas wins, it's just another win against a lower ranked opponent...not a huge deal. Everyone expects them to win.

I read thru some of their posts. A lot of their fans are just as concerned about this game as we are. Some good threads over there. A complete opposite of the KSUcks forum last week. These guys are respectful of where NU is now and how well we play.

I liked this post from one of their members

These guys (NU) are going to bring the jihad. Bank on it. Hopefully we will not sleepwalk like we (UT) did against Baylor.

Reasons why Nebraska wins this game:

#1. Players and fans are more fired up than Texas'.

#2. Homefield advantage.

The intangibles are starting to mount up. They are the reasons one team beats another equal team.
