NU Recruiting Coordinator/Staff?

Any displeasure Bo's gotten from the administration, he's fully earned. But incredibly, he not only has been retained, he's got a clean slate, more resources than he's ever had before, and a vote of confidence in the form of a very public and unified front.

Nobody has totally unlimited resources, though everyone would like to. The disadvantages Nebraska has are well known. For example, NU's pulling in the neighborhood of $6 million in contributions to the athletic department, while schools with larger booster bases are in the $20- and $30-millions. In spite of this NU was 6th in the country in men's athletics recruiting spending in 2011-2012. (and Hunter, you're right. We have to spend more just to keep pace.)

It's incredible NU's efforts to expand its recruiting support system turns into skewering the administration for Bo's sake. I really hope Bo himself is not doing any of this finger-pointing or self-pity. To be in charge of a program, you simply have to always believe in what you can accomplish there. A coach who can't have that mentality for any reason, it doesn't make him a bad guy... just one that needs to turn in his

It is not "incredible" Pelini has been retained......good flippin' grief. The guy's one of the winningest coaches in the time since his hire.

It's quite incredible if his boss's boss doesn't want him to be here. In fact, it's extraordinary.

If the right person wanted him gone, he'd be gone. Nothing incredible about that......it's the way the world works. I'm personally happy Pelini is our coach, so that's about all I know.

Polo, I have said for a long time recruiting has to be he most important aspect that Bo kinda swept under the table. Not an attack, just my feeling.

I listen to the Finebaum show a lot. Frippen hilarious to be honest. But Saben is possessed about recruiting, and like I have said for years we need to be.

I truly think the reason Bo is still here is the buy out and a certain big booster in Texas. But he is here, he needs all the backing he can get. I do not think the University is short stepping because of Bo. I think it/they have felt that the expense is not needed. Be it Bo or anyone else.

I am not defending or attacking, just my feelings about recruiting. I was very heavily involved with it for many years.

If Callahan can be bought out with all the toys in North Stadium half completed and needing additional funds, then Bo can be bought out too.

And I'll agree that NU has made a lot of hay out of visionary people making it work by going above and beyond the shortcomings. Other than that, it sounds like we agree.

I think, very certain, that same booster in Texas is the very person that paid the lion's share of the Pederson/Clownahan buyout and was mostly responsible for Bo being here. Due to said buy out. That individual still seems to be very much in Bo's corner. Until that changes, I think Bo remains.
