Offense and Beck

For me the jury is still out on Beck after watching this season. There were some moments but overall I thought he left a lot out there with his use, or lack thereof, of personnel. I thought he and this coaching staff would be figuring out ways to get our young talent on the field much more than they did. I was expecting to some kind of a system, ala Oregon, and instead I am left with the perception of a bunch of stuff just thrown together.
+1. For every great play or quarter/half of play calling there were and equal number not so good. After hearing all spring about this up tempo "Oregon style" O, I was expecting a lot more. Rarely saw the up tempo, Wisconsin still baffles me as does having no identity. We need to be less conservative and more attacking. If it works a) feel free to use it again and b) use it until they stop us.

We need to really hone in on what we want to be and do it. Go cold turkey on the crap we don't want and get very, very good at what we want to do. Develop an identity, recruit the kids to play it and get the playmakers on the field. No more multiple, no more element this element of that etc...

I will admit when Beck was on, he was on. New OC, new mission, new challenges.
