Help out an out-of-state brother - what's the latest news on the development of the offensive line? Just haven't seen much recently on how it's developing.

Help an in-state brother. I'm a half hour from the stadium.....I haven't heard much from the offensive line either.

Haven't heard too much with specific personnel. But this is what I have gathered so far from clips and articles.

- Cavanaugh's keys are fundamentals, smarts and toughness

- Cavanaugh mentions he learned in his career that if a lineman isn't tough, no amount of coaching will change that

- Preaches "hands violent, low to high"

- Takes his responsibility with these guys very seriously. Is tough on them when he teaches, but embraces them.

- Lewis is all in

- Towards the end of last season, a former lineman said they had a ton of pre snap requirements that was tough on them at times throughout a game

My take is that it is a coaching upgrade and the players will benefit from it.

Even though the most talented lineman are usually tackles and occasionally guards, I would love to see a tough, smart, true leader emerge at Center. That position and middle linebacker (IMO) are guys that if they lack talent, you wouldn't know it because they make up for it with determination, toughness, smarts, leadership and all out effort within a controlled manner. Just great football players.

From Saturday's practice, it was noted that the DLine beat the OLine most of the time during different drills. Not sure what to take from that. To me the spring game should tell more than drills.
