Official Nicknames for Nebraska Sportswriters

In a OWH article from a couple days ago Dirk outed some of the goofy Husker player nicknames from the early 90s. LINK It's really a pretty good article. But the player nicknames are sort of goofy and demeaning: Poo. Nutsy. Lumpy. (Oh man.

) So that made me think, hey, maybe we should come up with nicknames for our favorite sportswriters. (Or non-favorite sportswriters, whatever the case may be. lol) If we come up with some good ones I'll edit this post to reflect them.

Here's some guys who need nicknames:

Dirk Chatelain, OWH

Sam McKewon, OWH

Steve Sipple, LJS

Brian Christopherson, LJS

I know there are plenty of others--both Nebraska media guys and national media guys (and gals?). I'll add to the list as need be.

Any suggestions?

Since I stole this idea from Dirk's article, I'll suggest a nickname for him first. Either “Mr. Ed.” Or simply “Ed”. For obvious reasons.

I actually like it that Sipple is always positive about things.

It might not sound like it but i like most of the sportswriters. including sipple! but he does wiffle-waffle around trying to please everyone. so for sip; i vote 'wiffle waffle'
