He's due for an update - I don't think he's going to be a high 4-star or anything, but the new scouting report from 247 reads better than where they have him ranked currently.

Waterman is a versatile offensive line prospect we think can line up at multiple positions in college. He plays exclusively left tackle at the high school level and shows tackle feet and balance but has a wide frame and could easily move inside and play guard as well. A physical player who can finish and shows the toughness you have to have to excel in the trenches. He's technically sound and looks equally adept as a run blocker as he is a pass protector. A true mauler, strong at the point of attack and has the size and skill set to be a multi-year starter at the next level.

I think he'll still be a 3 star, but they don't constantly update ratings for guys who aren't high-end prospects. For 247 they also do their ratings in the context of NFL prospects, so especially at OL if you're not a documented freak athlete you're probably not a 4/5 star. And actually looking at their rating system, I thought multi-year P4 starter was more 87-88 but 85 is about right so that might be where he sticks. If he goes to some camps, gets his height/arm length verified and holds his own at tackle that could probably bump him up.

It sounds like there's not much doubt he can play tackle in the P4, which to me deserves more than an 85 but not if your rating system only cares about NFL prospects. But OL is tough to project, and it makes a lot more sense for the recruiting sites to focus on nailing their evals of the top guys instead of guessing who in the mass of mid and low level prospects will actually develop. For every Spencer Long there are literally thousands of guys who don't make an impact. Their hit rate on the top guys is pretty decent.
