International Man of Mystery
Report: O.J. Simpson Confesses to Murder of Ex-Wife Nicole Brown Simpson
O.J. Simpson has reportedly admitted to the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994.

Simpson confessed to a producer for Oprah Winfrey, and he will reportedly repeat the confession to Winfrey during a televised interview. Several news outlets are citing the National Enquirer with breaking the news.

The initial interview took place in prison, where Simpson is serving a nine-year sentence for kidnapping and robbery.

Simpson claimed he stabbed Nicole in self-defense.

The former NFL running back and part-time movie star was acquitted after being charged for the murders of his ex-wife and Ron Goldman.
Wow. Never thought I'd see the day.

Apparently there is no statute of limitations for Murder in the state of California. Perhaps he's willing to do this because he's already been acquitted? I cannot understand why he would confess to this (if true).

I don't think the statute of limitations matters here. Since he has already been tried and acquitted, double jeopardy comes into play. The state is forbidden from trying him again on the same, or similar charges following a legitimate acquittal or conviction. He must be desperate for attention/money.

Not really a surprise to me. The public confession is, but we knew all along he was guilty.

But wouldn't he open himself up to perjury charges? Maybe I'm not remembering this very well, but didn't he deny killing Nicole on the stand?

I forget, was he ever on the witness stand? If not, would it perjury if he didn't testify under oath?

He's got to be getting ready to sell a book or something else. Thats the only reason he'd let his name get back out in the spotlight.
