With all the offseason talk about Texas-Nebraska, coupled with all the always-in-season talk about OU-Texas, we never really got around to talking about what could be the most special game of all.

Oklahoma-Nebraska.

Time to start talking. The most likely result of the Sooners' 28-20 victory over Texas on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl is a return trip to Greater Dallas for Oklahoma. In December, in the Big 12 title game, in a bon voyage showdown against Nebraska.

pretty sweet! i was actually looking at tickets today for the big 12. If i wait too long, i wont have the money for them, so might as well buy them now. I cant wait!

NOT SO FAST MY FRIENDS!

I have quite a few friends who are die-hard Sooner fans and as much as they would like to see OU-NU finish out the Big 12 matched up in the Championship game, many of them are worried about their team and their inability to be consistent. Some even mention Okie Lite (Sorry Joey...had to do it to ya) as possibly being a loss because of OSU's offense right now. Even A&M has them worried (they, like us, travel to College Station). So there is still a lot of football to be played but if things play out like we and OU fans hope for, we'll all be meeting in Dallas.

Haha okie lite <_< yeah.. I could possibly see them losing against atm and Osu. Both of those teams have been known to bite Ou in the butt once in awhile. Oklahoma has to go @OSU and @Atm also.

Bedlam is a huge game in Oklahoma. Rankings, win/loss columns, etc take a backseat to this game.

what if OU and NE both lose to OSU and A&M, now that would be crazy! yet Ne wont lose so see ya in the big 12!

I remember feeling this way in 01. It just seemed right for NU and OU to play for the title and have a great rematch...then CU beat us and OSU beat OU and it was CUvsTX....hmmmm.....CU is 3-1...nah.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the South in a 3-way tie like it was a few years ago. OU looked like Worldbeaters in the first half against Texas. Then, they tried to give the game away in the second half. The South had the best QB's the last few years, but those guys are gone. Most of the teams in the South thus far have been pretty inconsistent. If Nebraska takes care of business like it should, we'll be in. However, I'm just not sure which team will represent the South.

I think it would be pretty neat if OU (and ourselves) could go undefeated and we'd both end up in the Big 12 Championship game. For me you almost couldn't write a better story. (I would have loved to have faced an unbeaten Texas squad Oct 16th and then again in the Big 12 title game-winning both games. Nothing would have been sweeter.)

I don't think Oklahoma goes undefeated. They will lose to either Texas A & M or Oklahoma St or both.
