Omaha 1620 The zone: Dan Mullen following...

As for Mullen the hire, we could do a lot worse, and did for the past 11 years.

A simple look at the history of Mississippi st football and the history of Nebraska football will suffice in a counter.

Keep fighting the good fight.
Do you mean like wins and losses the last 6-7 years?
I don't think Mullen is all that he is made out to be. I'm not the one who sees the need to continue to berate Pelini. Keep fighting the good fight.
Sec west vs big ten west.

I do not care in the slightest about Bo Pelini anymore, short of him sabotaging Nebraska, which I'm of the belief he won't do.

Hey big red buster...... How many wins does Arkansas have over top 25 teams??? Keep in mind they played SEVEN top 25 teams this year.

Believe it or not..... Arkansas is a lot closer than Nebraska on getting over the hump. As it stands right now.

Of coarse they are....they have a coach.

No, I'm not impressed with Arkansas. They played 5 teams that are actually ranked NOW. Playing someone early in the year that is highly ranked but then ends up unranked doesn't mean much to me. And, of those 5 that are ranked now, they lost all but to the one that is now ranked 19th.

They have wins over Nichols State, Texas Tech, Northern Illinois, UAB (Which I think is dropping it's football program now), LSU (now unranked) and Ol' Miss. Meh......

WOOAAAHH THERE hypebeasts. chill out on dan mullen.

Mississippi State Bulldogs (Southeastern Conference) (2009–present)

2009 Mississippi State 5–7

2010 Mississippi State 9–4

2011 Mississippi State 7–6

2012 Mississippi State 8–5

2013 Mississippi State 7–6

2014 Mississippi State 10–2

Mississippi State: 46–30
Take away the 5-7 in 2009 and isn't this basically what a lot of NU fans have said they're alright with? 8 or 9 wins with the occasional run at a national title. I realize that still leaves a pair of 7-6 seasons but in the B1G those probably don't happen.

The big difference between MSU this year and years past is not Dan Mullen it is Dak Prescott. He went from being very talented, but erratic over his career to being elite this year. MSU will be back to 5 loses next year without him at QB.
Player development?
Cool!

Even if Pelini was still here.... Arkansas is still so much closer to getting over the hump....
Some count the teams on where they were ranked when you beat them. Even if you just take those 5 teams. They are 1-4, which is better than Nebraska.

Bama lost by 1

Miss St lost by 7

Georgia lost by 13

Missouri lost by 7

Ole Miss won by 30.

3 of those games by one touchdown. 2 of those teams have been ranked number 1. Ole miss didn't even score a point. Bama got held to there lowest out put of the season. Miss St 2nd lowest. Worse loss is 13 points on the road.

There out of conference was marginally worse than Nebraska, which they crushed every single opoonent(Nebraska can't say that). They played more top 25 teams one year than Nebraska will play in two years combine.

They are the best 6-6 team in the country. I don't know what you got against Bielima and his smokin hot wife..... But good lord give it a rest. They were absolutely coached up this year, something we can't say about what went on in north stadium.

Ummm....I admitted they might be closer to what we want.

I'm still not impressed.

I believe their coach is in year three.

In year three, Bo beat the #7 and #17 teams. He also lost to the # 10 and #18 teams both by 3 points.

Look where that ended up going.

Hey....if you want to have a pissing match about how good Arkansas is, you can have it with yourself. If you want to claim they are much better than what I think they are....great....I have no need to argue the point and am done with the topic.

Let's move on.

You started the pissing match. All I was trying to point out is how close Ark is despite there record.
Bielima is in year 2. Remember how he schooled us in the BigTen title game.

Mississippi State and Dan Mullen this year is Auburn and Gene Chizik of 2010.

With a great QB you win games, without them, the greatness is not there.

(I might even be bold enough to say Florida and Urban Meyer post-Tim Tebow)

I'll be impressed with Mullen when he doesn't have Dak and wins like he did this year.

Until then... Pass...
