What did you think Tom was going to say! Hey look this is some bullsh#t by pearlman. Yeah I have tolerated pearlman but he is a dumb mother fu&*#r! Do I need to remind you of Callahan!

NO!!! TOM fired him.

And you expected anything else. What else would he or could he say. This is Tom's university in every aspect. He lives breaths Nebraska. It took no special movement or extra effort. He is great man and he reacted as great people do. No big deal I am sure to Tom. He maybe upset about how it went down, but he would never say so.

I bet Bo will have a short leash now. Bo will not like it and behind the scenes drop a F-bomb. Better start winning Bo real quick. History shows with new AD coaches are gone real quick.

he will probably tear bo's fence down

maybe he can spray-paint a bunch of championships that he didn't win on the side of the stadium. you know, so people will think he's not a complete ruhtard.

Honestly. I expected nothing from TO. I would not have blamed him for saying nothing about the situation or the way it went down. TO did the right thing here. Very classy move IMO.

Nothing. I didn't expect him to say anything. He didn't have to do or say anything. But the fact that he did come out and support the hire is a good thing.

Like I shared before-he didn't have to say or do anything. That he DID make this statement just shows that he has and always will, put the university and its interests above his own personal feelings, whatever they may be or may have been. I think it's a positive way to begin this new 'era'? because I, for one, am wondering how this will pan out. It doesn't feel right. I was hoping that they would hire someone from inside. I've read so many conflicting reports on this young man from he was an 'invisible AD at Miami' to 'he's a brilliant up and coming new AD' Who do you believe? So to have Tom come out and support the hire this way is a good thing although I'm not sure it made me feel any better. If the new AD is as smart as others have reported, he will stick to Tom like glue and learn everything he can about operating in this great state. If not, then he won't last long here. So, I say, welcome! Give him a chance.

Agree that Tom is a class act and that Pearlman flubbed up answering early questions about this.

I do like the hire! Time will tell.

I don't remember many people being crazy about Bill Byrne and he turned out to be an outstanding AD. I have to admit this hire surprised me unitl I read about Barry Alvarez' endorsement....that's a pretty big Husker endorsement. And I agree with Pearlman that the last guy with close Husker ties before Osborne turned out to be a big disaster. Don't kid yourself, Dr. Tom knew what was going down, is staying out of the "debate", and is asking you to be a fan and give the new guy your support.
