Nebrasia is still looking to shore up talent on its offensive line for years to come. One guy who could be a solution is Ocean Township offensive tackle Lou Eliades. The 6-6, 290 pound tackle who currently holds more then 20 offers says he can't think of everyone who has offered him
"I have offers from Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Nebraksa, Miami Indiana, South Carolina, LSU and Pittsburgh. How many is that?"
He mentioned that he has trimmed his list down a little bit, but won't say for sure if someone else could jump into the mix.
"When people ask me who my top schools are, it changes every other day. Some days i like Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland as my top schools, other days it's Miami, Penn St, Tennessee. I really couldn't tell you who my top 5 schools are or what schools will get a visit. Right now, i just want to ride things out, Eliades said. I’m interested in all of them"
Lou has already taken unofficial visits to Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers, and South Carolina during the summer. Now with preseason camp underway, he doesn't have time to think about where he is going to go for sure yet
"We just started preseason camp a couple of days ago and i've been hitting the gym almost everyday. I just want to make sure i stay in shape and stay focused on this season at this point"
When asked if Nebraska was still in the mix for him?
"Yes, it's an honor to get an offer from a school like Nebraska. I know they are still new with their offense and i wouldn't mind being a part of team like that. One thing you always knew about Nebraska was their blackshirt's. ”
Right now, Eliades is looking at a school's overall program and their educational benefits.
“I know that playing time will come, so I’m not really worried about that," he said. "I’m more interested in getting an education. It’s important to having something to fall on in case my dream of playing in the NFL doesn’t happen
We asked him what he thinks college coaches like about his style of play and why so many schools want him?
"Well, i am aggresive off the line of scrimmage. I make sure i stay on my man untill the whistle is blown. Sometimes i get double teamed but usually i just pancake the guy"
It should be noted that Lou Eliades has not once been pancaked one on one during his playing career. Overpowering him does not seem to be an option, unless he is double teamed.
Eliades who has played on both the offensive and defensive line and is a 2 year varsity starter averaged 5 pancakes a game last season. Lou has a workout routine he tries to stick to. He works out at the gym religiously according to him. He can bench presses 345 pounds over 25 times. Lou runs the 40 yard dash in 4.9 seconds and has a recorded shuttle time of 4.7. He has a squat of 405 pounds and dead lifts 455 pounds. Lou currently maintains a 2.7 GPA and scored a 930 on the SAT. He is ranked as the top offensive guard in the state of New Jersey and one of the top 10 players in the state. Last year, Lou earned all county and all division honor.
