Our Division - who has the inside track now

We were given 2 free prizes over the weekend - both Mich and NW were beaten. That puts us ahead of Mich by a game & NW by 2 but MSU is tied with us.

Who has the inside track at this point to win the division - based on schedule?

MSU has Ill, Purdue, Mich, Min, NW left to play besides our head to head match up.

We have a tougher schedule remaining - the same teams as MSU but add PSU remove Purdue who we just played.

Mich will loose to OSU. If we beat Mich - that settles the issue with them.

NW is no longer a factor except to be the spoiler for MSU or NU.

I think we can afford to loose a conf game to a team not called MSU but outside of that, MSU has an easier schedule and could win out. I think we both beat Mich.

I do see us beating NW at home by virtue of the fact that they have shown the past two weeks that they have some issues against the run on defense and it is contingent on another big jump on defense by us.

If we can get out of Ann Arbor with a win, I really think we can run the table. Brady Hoke's first home loss has to come some time.

After this week, there isn't a game left on the schedule that we can't win.

You are wrong. All Big 10 games count towards the division title. Division games are used as a 2nd or 3rd tiebreaker.

Incorrect - those losses go into the overall div rankings. However, inter-divisional records would determine tie breakers.

But if NW wins out and NU, MSU, and Mich all beat up on each other, NW could sneak back in due to head-to-head records with in-division foes since their two losses now are from the other division. However, I really like NU's chances to get to the CCG.

Minnesota - W. Anemic offense. Another stepping stone for our D.

Northwestern - W. Barring crazy turnovers, we take care of business. More athletic defense helps keep Simien, Kolter, and Mark under control.

Michigan - W. I wish we had them at home, as Hoke sucks on the road. Still, they have been very lackluster.

MSU - W. Battle. They still can't beat us.

PSU - W. This worries me. However, if they rely on Hackenberg flinging it around 35+ times, we win easily.

Iowa - W. It's Iowa.

Nebraska and MSU have the inside track at the division right now. I am not sold that MSU's offense is clicking all that great so far, but they are improving. The thing that plays into NU's hand is that MSU's offense is one that we are better at defending. The game is also at home.

Michigan is not out of it, but I don't think they beat MSU or OSU. Northwestern just doesn't have enough depth to really get it done, and their defense is not that good against the run. Iowa will beat someone they aren't suppose to, they seem to always do it to someone. Don't know who, hope it is not NU but it could be NW or Michigan.

If NU's defense keeps playing fast and with confidence I think we could be the team to beat, but the defense has to keep getting better.
