OL is the biggest question mark, or position group with the most to prove, on the team, IMO. Even bigger than QB, as we know what to expect with Tommy.

Kinda surprised about Utter. Had been hearing so many good things about foster. Don't remember hearing his name mentioned too often.

Well, if I am reading the depth chart right, Utter is co-1 with Foster, Whitaker, and Hannon. One of those guys are going to have to win the job this fall.

Personally I'm hoping this depth chart is almost completely wrong. Theres some stronger younger guys who hopefully make an impact in the fall and overtake some of these starting spots. I've watched some of these names on this list struggle for long enough.

I agree with you. The OL was recruited well the last two years. Asking a true freshman to crack the two-deep, is asking too much, but guys like Foster, Gates, and, even, Farmer could be the answer (unfortunately, we are assuming that on practice, HS film, and potential). When I saw the WR depth chart, I thought it perfectly mirrored your sentiment. My guess would be that the coaches are rewarding actions, not just potential or experience.

Interesting Dwayne Johnson is MIA.

I'm not going to judge any player in this group based on performance under the last staff.

New beginnings.

Yea I'm not basing it on really anything the younger guys have done since the last staff was so piss poor at developing depth and getting guys onto the field, but I am basing it on what I've seen from some of these guys that have played. I can't think of a lot of excuses for some of the lack of aggression and the way some of these guys became spectators during plays. If I put a game on from last year I can literally watch one of these guys , almost every single play, just stand there and watch. They didn't look for contact, they didn't turn their heads downfield to pick up the next block, they just kind of stopped and watched Abdullah run. That or they looked totally lost and completely whiffed on guys as they went by. Not to carry on too bad being harsh on these guys, but the offensive line has truly been the hardest thing to watch for me for about five years now. Pathetic really.

I would that it will be a pretty wide open contest come the fall. The real question will be, what if it is the same guys we have seen starting in the past that are starting again?

Does it mean that the young guys are not all that good?

Does it mean that the old staff and new staff evaluated and came to the same conclusions?

Does it mean that the guys that started last year made really big strides?

So hard to gauge any of the positions Considering last year's inept ability to develop potential. There were always bright spots but as a whole the previous staff was a solid "D" as a grade

One thing we know is Alex will be starting at LT and Chongo will be starting at RG. They both separated themselves enough in spring ball from everyone else to pretty much secure their spots. I was told they were far ahead of everyone else. The other spots have talent, but no one performing on the levels of Chongo and Alex. The coaches taught a lot this spring for the guys to work on this summer, so those who go to work and the new techniques become second nature will be able to up their game this fall as the team moves on to all the plays and stuff.
