NEW YORK -- The Pac-10 can count.

When Utah and Colorado join the conference, the new name will be the "Pac-12."

That was the big announcement as the Pac-10 began its national tour in the W Hotel in Manhattan, where the conference plans to start "telling our story more aggressively and in a more dynamic way," said commissioner Larry Scott.

The first confrence to change its name to fit the new teams in: Colorado and Utah.

This. I don't understand it. What happens in a few years if the Big 12 dissolves and the Pac 12, which we haven't even had a chance to start getting used to yet, becomes the Pac 16?

They need some long-term solutions. Or just leave their name as a lie. That would actually be acceptable. We've lived with the Big Ten.
