Past First Year QB Stats

Five-Star Recruit
If this table holds together and I haven't made any mistakes. It shows the completion % for past QBs (back to 1981) in their FIRST YEAR as the starting QB. At least if they had the most starts that year. Remember its not the first year they played rather the first year that they were the starter for most of the games. Prior to 2002 bowl games are not included.

Good idea to put in their year--frosh, soph, etc. It's a huge difference to start a Rfrosh like Martinez vs. a 5th year senior like Ganz.

And strength of schedule, and ranks of opposing defenses. There are lots of factors that go into these stats.

Pshaw! I put together stat breakdowns like this all the time.

It helps if you copypasta all the NCAA stats into a spreadsheet, though. Sortable stats are the way to go.

Pretty amazing that people gave Martinez as much grief as they did when in his freshman year he had a better pass efficiency rating than juniors Zac Taylor, Sam Keller, and Zac Lee did in each of their first years as starter.
