It's official! I'm calling him Bowl Pelini. BTW, Huskerboard member JTrain gets credit for coming up with that moniker. :)

Pelini is 3-0 in bowl games, but what I think is impressive about that is that those 3 opponents are (were) quality teams that year. If memory serves me correct, only the Michigan State game was one in which we were favored. It's good to see a coach who can get his team ready for the big games.

The other thing that was significant going into that game is the firing of Solich just weeks before. It was a confusing time for fans, so who knows what was going on in the players minds? But after seeing the way they performed that night, it said a lot about Pelini and how he undertook the HC role and came out victorious despite the media whirlwind of the Solich firing.

Bo's D is just deadly with that extra time to prepare. They played their best game of the year in each bowl. The score of the Clemson game doesn't reflect how well the D played since the O gave up a couple td's.

Anyone else notice this yet? In Bo's first three bowl games as HC, he has played against a different conference each year.

'03 - Big Ten

'08 - ACC

'09 - Pac-10

Hopefully we can play an SEC team next year in a BCS bowl.

The most amazing thing about what I have seen is how much he incorporated in the last two games....especially against Texas. We blitzed more in that game then the entire season combined it felt like. There was a great article in the OWH about the players focusing more on opponents tendancies than defensive schemes. :snacks:

man, especially when you take into acount that our O gave clemson most of its points. Didn't Ganz spot them 14 in that game?

Yea, he had a fumble that was returned for a TD and I think that he threw a pick that set Clemson up in the red zone.
