I didn't see it, but it sounds like Pelini's post game news conference was really something. Pelini took the blame and apologized to the University, the fans, and the State of Neb. He put the blame right on the coaches.

That's something Callahan never would have done.

 
you should get a pass your first year or two (or three).

...so you can take the blame after five games of your first year.

....you can't in your fourth year.

unless you don't WANT your job.

the post game press confernce game shows SO much character. He was pissed, and I know he will do everything...everything to make sure our teams our better than this in the future. This is why I'm so glad he is in there instead of callahan.

 
Gee a coach that accepts responsibilty. What a concept. It's still annoying how the moron sport writers asks that one stupid question. Where you embarrassed. I'd be embarrassed to ask the question....

 
This is why the program will be better over time. He doesn't consider himself a "genius" like Callahan did. If you are impressed with this, just think how the players feel...

 
According to Ganz he doesn't agree with him and said that "he was not out there playing, we were, and we played horrible." But I do agree that having a coach that takes responsibility makes the players have respect for him and in result will do anything for him.

he's not sugarcoating anything here. and coach pelini's development as a head coach continues.

something he *shouldn't* have said: "won't happen again." i'd like to believe that too, but man...

bo said he's getting back to work and he's never quit on anything in his life. good to hear, cause i'm a husker fan and i'm not quitting on this team either.

I just gotta love this man! What a post-game conference! I agree....he didn't "sugar coat" anything. He talked from his heart. I also agree that maybe he shouldn't have said "won't happen again", but sounds like he's going to get back to work, and he has never quit anything in his life.

Agreed, hack............I'm a Husker and I'm not quitting on this team either!

haha i think that was petey mac from big sports 590. He always asks the questions no one else wants to ask.

 
God I love seeing a coach talk like that after a loss. People in my section said they're giving up on the team for the season. What a joke, I'll be there no matter what.

 
Callahan did not avoid accepting blame for botched games, but I think it was a little more calla-culated on his part.

He said that because he knew it'd be horrid PR to blame players and other coaches. I think Callahan was pretty solid at saying what he thought people wanted to hear.

With Bo, it just 'feels' different. His statement of accountability comes off as 100% genuine and humble. You can plainly see the passion, frustration and dedication in him.
