Players at difficult juncture

I truely feel bad for the players. These kids have the weight of the entire Husker nation on them and it has to be devastating to play the way they are. Coach speak will not fix this. these kids are at a point in their life where they are building character. I hope that they fight through this and givea good effort. The coaches should be embarrassed and publicly apologize for the way this has turned out.

I will always love the Huskers and support these kids. They need us now more than ever.

“There’s always hope,” Callahan said. “That’s a part of life, is believing. You just have to believe. As a coach and coaching young men, you have to keep hope alive for those young kids. You can’t walk away from them and point fingers and blame and do anything like that.

“They’re hurt more than anybody. They’re embarrassed. They really hurt. Those kids in that room I just left, they’re gutted. They’re mentally, emotionally, physically gutted. They are sick.”

Yeah, and you go home to your mansion, eat lobster and steak until choke, and sleep on your luxurious bed.

The players go to their dorm room and lay on their cot wondering what they've done to deserve this.

"No Question" as to who sleeps better at night. :hmmph

I do feel real badly for the players. No where did they sign up for this and no way do they deserve this. They're doing what they're coached. They're doing the best they can with what they're being given. They want to play well. Yet, for whatever reason, they're not being given the chance. So to the players, I would apologize. I can't in good faith put the blame for this squarely on their shoulders. Sure they can be blamed for some missed plays, dropped passes, missed tackles, etc. Even blamed for a lack of player leadership. But they can't be blamed for the total meltdown of this team. That is where the blame falls squarely on the coaches.
