I think the interesting thing is how kids will have to develop. I am sure I have told this story before. One of the best HS FB programs in the area sends a few kids to B1G schools, and a lot to MAC schools. When the whole transfer portal thing started, they really noticed. Their DC is also a throws coach in track. I talked to him quite a bit at meets. When the portal started, he noticed a huge drop in the level of schools that offered their kids. He had a kids that was (in the old system) borderline B1G. He lost his offers to the MAC schools and was stuck going FCS. Bowling Green told him, we will keep an eye on you. If you have a good freshman year, we can get you in the portal.
Think of it like MLB. Kids will go to the minors and develop.
This is the new way. That is why I am OK not taking an HS QB this year. We can yank a kid next year from the portal if we need to. We have the money to do it.
