I loved John Madden because my grandma HATED him. Any time he was on she would scowl and complain. It was great. I don't even remember the details of why she couldn't stand him.

She hated him because he said things like "usually the team that scores the most points wins the game".

I hated him until he stopped announcing. You don't know what you got till it's gone.

The last 10 years of his announcing he was just a caricature of himself. He just started doing the things that we wanted to see in him way too much. He should have quit a little sooner.

Banker's demeanor is very similar to Charlie McBride's. The way he speaks and goes about things he sounds a lot like Charlie, a little bit of humor, mixed in with all business.
