United Kingdom -- A sub-postmaster who was beaten unconscious in an armed robbery said that he would never give in to a Post Office demand to pay back £3,000 of the stolen cash out of his own pocket.
Dilip Karavadra was left shocked when bosses said he had contributed to the £6,695 theft in December last year because he had moved away from an open hatch in the counter - allowing the raiders to jump through and snatch the cash.
"I was fighting for my life and now the Post Office wants half of the cash back that was violently stolen from me," said Mr Karavadra who has run the post office in the Hertfordshire village of Upper Caldecote for six years.
