Power Ratings/Alamo Bowl

Roy CO HSKR

Five-Star Recruit
The following ratings come from www.jhowell.net/cf :

For the 11 games of this season UM's PR (Power Rating) is .756. NU's is .655

The SOS (Strength Of Schedule) for MU is .874 and for NU is .663

For the 11 games the opponents' average PR for UM is .676 and for the 10 games (since Maine) NU's is .612. Since Maine is not Div 1a, they're not included, but that additon. if available, would not impact the final figure too much.

The oddsmakers out of Vegas have put MU as an 11 1/2 favorite to bring the betting even for both sides.

Now the MU fans state how much more difficult their schedule was and therefore how much better their team is than our's. The data does support their contention. But, like all events in life we have to play to really know. Therefore, if MU doesn't win handily, they either played less well than expected, NU played better than expected or both. Who has the most to lose by getting defeated?

If MU loses, they will have an historic 5 game loss this year. Are they concerned?

Are they cocky? Are they complacent or less than thrilled about missing out on a better bowl?

Who has the most to gain? NU's recruiting is going well. What would a bowl win do? Will NU leave it all on the field ala Boulder?

well if there are any spots left on our current recruiting class im sure it would put an exclamation point on our football team and perhaps sway some recruits back to Nebraska. I believe Michigan has the most to lose. After complaining about facing us in the Alamo Bowl and then losing to a 7-4 Husker squad would probably be the downfall of Lloyd Carr. which wouldnt be a bad thing according to some of the UM fans that have been posting lately.

Duh.. Michigan has the most to lose.

If Michigan wins: Michigan fans aren't excited because we were supposed to anyway. Nebraska fans will say "hey, you were supposed to anyway- big deal" The nation at-large looks at the game and says, who cares, no surprise.

If Nebraska wins: Michigan fans are very disappointed to lose to an unranked opponent (I personally will be very disappointed, because I had the pleasure of watching Nebraska suck it up most of the year.. and therefore I know NU does not have a good team). Nebraska fans get all excited over beating a "good" team and it goes on to help the program, etc., etc.... The nation at-large looks at the game and says "hey, Nebraska is coming back"

This is obvious... and you guys wonder why Michigan fans aren't excited about playing in a game that has very little to offer as a reward for winning?? The reward for winning is to not be embaressed. They may as well have put Michigan in the Motor City Bowl. I really would feel no different-- other than I wouldn't have to deal with all the local hoopla of nauseating Husker hopefuls.

The team is still going to show up ready to play-- and in my mind, they will be even more ready to play because the bowls have disrespected us... they say "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned-- well hopefully that translates to Wolverines too...

quit whining about having to play in the Alamo.......you guys got exactly what you deserved, if you would have won 1 or 2 more games you might have been playing in a BCS game, but YOU DIDN'T, so you do have the most to lose......and get over the fact that this team (NU) is on the way back.....it is and we will be legitimate contenders in a couple more years........I am sure when Carr is gone after 2007 you guys will go through the same thing and you too can eat some humble pie!

the difference is we won't be poking fun at you 'cause we know how it feels to have gone through it...........and our fans are more compassionate and obviously have more class, as i said before...........

You might want to learn how to spell that word "embarrassed"; because you will be on the 28th. :smokin

I guess getting whipped by OSU in front of your own fans didn't do much for your humility! Try to have a liitle maturity when you post. I presume by your threads that you didn't graduate from MU or anywhere else.
