Is there a Husker practice today?? Two-adays???

Whatdoes there schedule look like the rest of the fall before Maine?

 
They definately practiced this morning. I ride my bike past the stadium to work everyday and saw Taylor, Ganz, and others walking out of the stadium in full pads. I assumed they were heading to Cook or to the new facility, but didn't ask them.

 
speaking of qb's.........is anyone surprised that Gantz may be "heading" Beck?

Don't want to start a contoversey here, know it is early in preseason practices, but I guess I thought Beck would be getting more snaps, right behind Taylor? just looking for some opinions/thoughts on who is pushing for No. 2 spot and why....

I really don't know why Ganz is ahead of Beck or if there's even a reason to it other than Beck's a true freshman and its the 2nd week of practice. But I have to say its encouraging that Beck (and probably the other newcomers too) are seeing that nothing's going to be handed to them based on what they accomplished in HS or JC. IMO feeling a little disrespected/undervalued is a strong motivator while being coddled and talked up is not.

I wouldn't read anything into it and suddenly think Beck won't pan out, I think we all saw last season that being the qb in this offense is a huge challenge. Combine that with being 17 yrs. old, 1000 miles away from home, and trying to adjust to a totally different level of football and I'd say that's as much a reason as any that Beck may be getting fewer snaps than we might have expected.

 
I think we'll see Beck move his way up. Like the previous poster said, it's only the second week of practice, and other players have noted his mad skillz.
