Prince A.

I was just looking at the recent classes. Aside from the fact that I was a little concerned why we have so much talent in the previous classes only to see them sitting on the bench. For example, Culbert, Brooks, Holt, Jensen, Paul, Thenarse, and Mcneil just to name a few. Back to the point, I was wondering if anyone had any info on where Prince has been practicing? I would hate to see him end up like Culbert, not knowing where he is going to end up. He will be a junior next year and its pretty sad to say that we have wasted his athletic ability for two years now and I would hate to see that happen to Prince, especially considering there was so much hype about him during fall camp. I would love to see him and Blue as our starting corners in 09', with Asante and Thenarse at the safetys.

I agree. Player mismanagement under Callahan is obvious. An early indicator was using up a years eligibility for Harrison Beck for a meaningless quarter of football in the last game of the season. Beck should have sued him. As for Culbert, that too is sad. I agree I hope Prince is not wasted (or wasted in part) like some of the others.

Culbert should be backing up Octavian right now and be getting meaningful playing time in preparation for next year. realize that Octavian, Rudd, Mcuen, and Brandenburgh all leave after this year (only one is playing well --- Octavian --- and Brandenburgh is doing OK --- but the preparation for the future is not there). Next year we will get guys at LB who have played next to zero. Same with at QB. So..... more trouble is certain.

Beck wanted to play, he even said it in several interviews. And meaningless? Did you want to lose to KSU in our own house? WTH. That win put some wind in our sails that year. Get your facts straight. All of this negativity is both sad and pathetic. Just a bunch of whining kids.

Meaningless? Did you watch that game? He put the team in position to win the game. How is that meaningless?

Prince has been practicing at the CB position. The coaching staff prasied him in fall camp but, look at Andre Jones last year. He had 2 years of Juco expeirence and got tourched all over the field lastyear. They don't want to rush him or Blue until they feel that they are 100% sure that they can handle the load. Besides, we have Bowman, Grix, Jones, and Murillo. They are very talented there play had been great up until the USC game.

You will see those two starting next year, along with Asante, Thanarse, Culburt, Lawrence. Callahans ponds will be in place for sure.

The bottom line is that we are wasting precious talent that eveyone seems to think is in our recruiting classes. Well, qb's will not stick around if they do not see a chance of starting for more than one year. These guys will start to transfer and once again we will back to poor recruiting classes. I dont know what he's selling these kids to come here and play, but I can tell you if they dont they will spread the word about the bs he is handing out and it will stop real quick.

So what you are insinuating is that Ganz doesn't make that throw? There were some earlier before the season even started who though there was a possibility of Ganz starting over Keller. You guys think Beck is better than Keller? Beck wanted to play. Beck wanted to start. Beck wasn't going to play much and wasn't going to start last year. He left because he wants to play. He will more than likely get 3 years worth of starting at NC State. If he stayed here, at best he plays and starts 2 years. IMO, his redshirt here was wasted.

Meaningless in a relativistic manner. Would you trade off the potential of winning one game versus the loss of an entire year (ca. 11-13 games) down the road with a developed and experienced QB?

Of course it turned out to be a moot point as Beck transferred. But imagine that he "was the guy" and after a year of experience as a starter he has but one year left rather than two (or two rather than three). No one in their right minds trades off a year of eligibility for one quarter in a game at the seasons end. It is as simple as that.

Again because beck bolted it becomes moot. But, the principle that poor long term versus short term player management is nonetheless established.

Back to topic.

He will be a special teams weapon. The guy scored more times than not when he had the ball in his hands in HS.

So are you for or against Prince A. playing this year?
