Proposed Changes for Next Year . . .

Being from Southern Cal, it was amazing to watch USC dismantled UCLA last night 50-0. They are on probation and currently could beat any team in the country.
they haven't lost a single scholarship yet. they put it off and took a full class last year pending the results of their appeal. this year will be the first 10 lost IIRC. You won't start seeing the impact of their penalty until 2013ish.
Exactly. Also, in what world is USC consistently in the Top 3? The last time they were in the Top 3 was the week of September 19, 2009. They did not appear in the Top 3 in recent years until the week of September 27, 2003. From their first recent appearance to now, they've played 36 out of 113 games as a top 3 ranked team. Before that, from 1996 to 2001, they posted a 37-35 record, finishing outside the polls each of those years. In 2001, they were never ranked, in 2000, they reached #9 before losing 7 of 9, including 5 straight, and in the three seasons before that, they reached no higher than #18. In If that isn't a model of consistency I don't know what is.

Also, they cheat. I'll pass.

[/rant] Just a personal beef with USC.

How about this for the changes we need; Let's work to get a little bit better in all areas, possibly 1 or 2 slight adjustments in position coaches but nothing crazy, tweak the things that didn't work this year, expand on the things that did work, forget the knee-jerk changes, and take one more step towards getting back. Renewed effort and better focus in most games next year and 1 or 2 more wins. Our D slipped a little but the O showed some improvement. The sky is not falling. Everything we need is more than manageable. I wish people would quit thinking wholesale changes equal program improvement. Give it a little time. Be the tortoise not the hare.
That's just... I don't... That's just crazy man.

Yeah, being from Southern California, the only consistency I am really used to is USC being a second level team at best. They were good in the `70s when McKay was the coach, and they have had some good seasons in the last decade, but they sucked....SUCKED (as in: you can't spell SUCK without USC) all through the `80s and `90s. USC would have given anything to be as good as we are now during that two decade span. And one of the problems they had during that two decade span was that they were on probation...which is where they are now. And as was mentioned above, the scholorship penalties will start to hit soon.

14. Don't ever try to block another punt again.
I still find it amazing how people formulate these opinions after-the-fact. If our guys would have went in, blocked the punt, and returned it for a touchdown, people would have been praising Bo for making the call at the exact perfect time. And such is sports: everybody has the answers after-the-fact.
