Pull for an OSU win/future success??

Is it in our interests for Jim Tressel to have success well into the future??

Does anyone worry what happens if the OSU job opens up?

I don't see Tressel going anywhere anytime soon. Like WVhuskerXX already pointed out, he knows how to beat Michigan consistently. OSU's last coach, John Cooper was the exact opposite. He couldn't beat Michigan, which ultimately cost him his job.

Tressel has done some great things at OSU when you consider his track record. He's in his 9th year and 7 of those years OSU has competed in a BCS bowl. Two of those BCS bowls were for the National Title.

I think Tressel will retire on his own terms at OSU. He's 56, so give him another 7-10 years if he stays healthy and continues to put OSU in BCS contention every year.

I don't think I'm going to worry. Bo is tasting success here as a first-time Head Coach and, at least if everything I've read is correct, he enjoys being here.

I just don't see Bo leaving something that he built to go to tOSU...even if it is his "dream job".

This is true. Also, don't forget that LSU's coach Les Miles had a chance to HC at his alma mater, Michigan 2 years ago, but he turned it down. That could be the case with Bo as well.

I'd like to think having Dr. Tom as his boss will help keep him focused on what he's trying to create here at NU. I can see Bo wanting to carve his own legacy here in the same way Devaney & Osborne did before him.

It bothers me. Kinda like Roy Williams leaving KU to go to UNC. At some point, OSU is gonna look out there and see Bo in NC games and be done with Tressel. I think its inevitable. and I hope Bo says no...but I could see it happening

Bo fits in perfect with us. He knows that we all love the sport and follow it religiously. I am not saying OSU doesn't but I think we are on a different level and Bo knows this. Something Callahan and Cosgrove just didn't... get?

To fire sweater vest for not winning the bowl game would be worse then what Pederson did to Solich after having a winning season.

What does that tell the next coach win all your games or else be fired.

Ohio State won their con as they've usually done the majority of Tressel's years. Plus he owns Michigan. I see him retiring from OSU a decade down the road, at a point where I just can't see Bo leaving.

i dont see bo going anywhere ever. i think he wants to Restore the Order and dominate for decades until he retires like Tom, on top and the best...

I heard that there was some health issues with Roy's family in NC, which played a part in his moving. If true, don't fault him there

Other than winning, having a good boss and a good relationship with him/her is the best thing to keep a college job. Witness Solich and Leach and (Mangino to some extent, Perkins couldn't wait to get rid of him) off the top of my head. ADs love to have "their" guy. I hope the AD after TO has good NU ties, and not a business guy like Byrne.
