Purify's TD catch.

Did my eyes deceive me, or did I notice that Mo Purify walked across the LOS at least 2 yards before the snap (while our center had his hand on the ball), then returned onsides, THEN caught the TD pass before the half? I thought at that moment that the officials had to call that penalty----it seemed fairly obvious.....

Can anyone confirm whether or not this occurred??? I did not record the game.

Was that the play. I remember a receiver being on the other side of the LOS, then backing up and getting set. Was this the same play where the left tackle was freaking out flailing his arms. It looked like he was trying to get ZT to audible. I say this because he was still moving when the ball was snapped. I thought they were gonna nail us for false start.

WR's can move. I don't think patrick was in the 3 point stance at that point.

According to NCAA Rule 7-1: Snapping and Passing the Ball

#3. "No player of the offensive team shall be in or beyond the neutral zone after the snapper touches or simulates (hand (s) at or below his knees) touching the ball. EXCEPTIONS: 1) Substitutes and departing players; and 2) offensive players in a scrimmage kick formation who, after the snapper touches the ball, point at opponents and break the neutral zone with their hand(s). (S7 and S19)

I think that what I saw was illegal by rule and the official on that side of the field "blew it"! (great "no call") ;) ;) ;)   :thumbs :thumbs :thumbs

Again, if anyone can confirm that it actually occurred during the play in question, please inform......

Does Purify go pro after this season?
Nah, I don't think so. I don't see his draft stock being real high unless he just absolutely tears it up the rest of the season.

Right now, we see him on the field when we need a play. Some people forget that he hasn't really been here that long and probably hasn't absorbed all the plays he needs to in order for him to be out there down after down. They are involving him more and more every game, which makes the most sense to me anyway.

I don't think he goes pro because he isn't really known yet in the college football world............next year though watch out because he will know the offense well and people should definately know the Purify and Keller combo!!!!!

No way he goes pro this season. Unless, he has A LOT more catches. I would think he would like to have his stock rise before he would make the leap. If he stays, his stock will keep rising, and by the end of next season, it should be very high. He makes the must-have catches (well, he seems to make every catch). This guy is just incredible to watch.

Purify's going to have a monster of a season next year. But what's better is just how young our whole group of receivers are. Almost everyone comes back.

They will be dangerous as hell next year!!!! I mean they are great this year, but given one more year to get the offense down and oh man look out!!!!
